The Home Office updated their guidance on UK's points-based Immigration system to now include EU, EEA and Swiss citizens who arrive in the UK after 31 December 2020.
For those of you who have used the EU Settlement Scheme, you will be familiar with the largely used identity verification process via smartphone app. That process is here to stay and depending on the visa route and identity document, most people will be able to complete their application using the app. Others who cannot use the app, will need to attend a Visa Application Centre ('VAC') .
There will be an influx of Skilled Workers applications and by having the identity verification app, it will mean that applications can be processed quicker (and possibly simpler) rather than waiting for an available appointment at a VAC.
If you or your business plan to employ anyone who is not British, Irish or a settled person, make sure you have a Home Office Sponsor Licence in place.
