The deadline for EU nationals to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme ('EUSS') is fast approaching. However there is growing concern that there are many EU nationals who have not yet applied.
Despite the looming deadline (and calls for it to be extended), announcements today from the Immigration minister suggested that those who did not apply by 30 June 2021 would receive a 28 day notice advising them to apply for settled status. Furthermore, the Immigration minister stated that there would be an indefinite period where people (who had not yet applied) would be allowed to do so if they had reasonable grounds.
If you have not yet applied to the EUSS then you must do so as soon as possible.

Some 5.6 million European Economic Area (EEA) citizens and their dependents have applied for settled status. But there are around 400,000 cases outstanding, and the government's helpline is receiving thousands of calls a day.
